How it all began
WayCool Software was initially incorporated by Mike Frederick to provide customized software solutions, consulting, and project management. In 2001, Mike had the opportunity to work with a local crisis pregnancy center and began to offer his company’s services pro gratis. This experience changed the company’s direction and allowed it to grow into the company it is today.
The initial needs of that pregnancy center, as well as other nonprofit organizations in the local area, were for Donor Management tools, including the ability to track donor contact information, to report contribution history, and to communicate with donors. The first release of CoolFocus included both Donor and Volunteer Management tools.
CoolFocus as we know it today
In 2002, WayCool added Client Management to the functionality of CoolFocus for crisis pregnancy centers, and soon discovered that a cloud-based solution would be the most efficient path for longevity, user support, maintenance, and leading-edge technology integration.
As a result, Jonathan Marbutt joined WayCool as a shareholder and Vice President of Software Development, bringing his web development experience to the table. CoolFocusWEb was born, known simply now as CoolFocus.
Moving Forward
As the software has continued to develop, WayCool has expanded CoolFocus to serve a variety of non-profit organizations to help manage their Donors, Clients, and Volunteers. Now with a fully-engaged and personal customer service team, WayCool continues to provide excellent support to the organizations it serves. We value our customer relationships and work hard to incorporate their needs into the solutions we provide.
